LYNDHURST BOE 2019: Gaccione out…Dell ‘Aquila in

 -  -  103

Popular 2018 Lyndhurst Board of Education candidate Giovanni Gaccione announced this weekend that he is not running for the BOE again this year due to personal obligations.

Only hours after Gaccione dropped out, another young newcomer entered the 2019 BOE race. Anthony Dell ‘Aquila has filed for the unexpired 2-year term vacated last year by Vincent Tunnero, who resigned after being elected.

This year there are four Board of Education seats on the ballot, currently held by these incumbents:

Incumbent BOE Trustee James Donovan
Incumbent BOE Trustee Susan Alcuri
Incumbent BOE member Chris Andrinopoulos
Incumbent BOE Trustee Stephen Vendola

Monday, July 29, 4 p.m. is the deadline to file nominating petitions for school board candidacy in this year’s General Election. Approximately 1,500 board of education positions appear on the election ballot annually. Five hundred twenty-nine school districts will conduct elections on November 5.
