BOE member Stephen Vendola raised Lyndhurst School taxes $10.3 million. And Vendola repeatedly appointed politically connected school auditors with conflicts of interest who missed a $4.5 million school deficit. Now there are cost overruns for school construction.
But with four of Vendola’s family members on the Lyndhurst Board of Education’s payroll (his two daughters, his wife, and his sister), the Vendola family can afford to spend a little to make a lot.
And don’t forget, Stephen Vendola makes big bucks too at the NY/NJ Port Authority, where he ranks in the top 100 of the highest paid employees out of the 7,000 employees there.
No wonder they keep raising tolls…
Lyndhurst School Board Trustee Stephen Vendola was ranked #50 out of the top #100 highest paid of 7,000 employees at the NY/NJ Port Authority, taking home $240,186 in 2014. In 2019, Vendola topped the list for the highest amount given to an employee in Port Authority retro pay, with Vendola taking home $158,656 on top of his base salary of $106,324.
