Mayor Bobby Giangeruso campaigned hard to get Stephen Vendola re-elected to the Lyndhurst Board of Education, with a high ranking member of the Lyndhurst Police Department joining Giangeruso as he stood outside the polls on Election Day twisting voters’ arms.

Giangeruso’s son was promoted from teacher to a Principal by Vendola, with Vendola violating BOE hiring procedures a decade ago to appoint Giangeruso’s son over others (see article below). Lyndhurst Police Captain Michael Carrino’s son was also appointed to a job by Vendola, a school security position effective September 30, 2019. Captain Carrino’s wife is currently a school secretary.

Vendola was defeated by newcomer Anthony Dell ‘Aquila, 965 (44%) to 1,236 (56%).
